Meet Day Survival Tips

Arrive Early

Get there 30 minutes before the first event to secure shade or a good bleacher spot. Prime real estate goes fast at big invites.

Check Venue Rules

Some venues ban tents, require clear bags, or restrict outside food. Check the meet info sheet before packing.

Dress in Layers

Morning meets start cool and heat up fast. Bring a light jacket even on warm days - wind on open tracks cuts through.

Reapply Sunscreen

SPF 50 wears off in 2 hours. Set a phone timer. Parents get burned watching because they forget to reapply.

Pack Real Food

Concession stands are expensive and unreliable. Sandwiches, fruit, granola bars, and trail mix carry better than fast food.

Bring Entertainment

Younger siblings need something to do between events. Pack a ball, coloring book, or tablet for downtime.
